Making Fingerprint Jewellery

We use a harmless material called precious metal clay which is a combination of silver particles, an organic non-toxic binding agent and water.

The firing process evaporates the water, burns away the binder and leaves the solid silver which can be hallmarked if required.

We discuss your requirements, design your piece, take the impression of your baby’s fingerprint into the clay, and cut the shape of your choice around it.

After the clay has dried and undergone several preparatory stages, we fire it in our kiln.

Each piece is then painstakingly finished and polished using up to twelve processes, inspected for quality and finally packaged in an elegant gift box.
